Emulating a Role Model
Hi,
A common reason why we procrastinate is that we’re afraid of something or just don’t want to deal with it.
One anti-procrastination technique that can help with this is to emulate a relevant role model, by asking yourself how they would handle the task you’re facing. This can give you the motivational boost that you need in order to get started, by getting you to follow the example of someone you look up to.
A similar option, which you can use in addition to or instead of the previous one, is to pretend that your role model is watching you face the task. Visualizing them there could give you a similar boost to motivation, both because you don’t want to let them down and because you will then feel that you have their support.
I hope this helps!
Have a great week,
Itamar
